GuardPoint 10 Integrates with Mitsubishi Electric Smart Lift Systems

GuardPoint 10 now integrates with the latest generation of smart lift systems from Mitsubishi Electric, delivering a secure and efficient way to manage lift access in modern buildings. This integration supports Mitsubishi Electric’s Destination Oriented Allocation System (DOAS) using the ELSGW (Elevator Secure Gateway). In this architecture, the lift control panel is located outside the lift car, allowing GuardPoint 10 to communicate directly with the lift controller over IP.

Mitsubishi Electric’s DOAS system optimises multi-car lift operation by efficiently grouping passengers by destination, reducing waiting and travel times. When combined with GuardPoint 10, access to floors and destinations can be restricted by user permissions and time schedules, enhancing building security and improving traffic flow.

Unlike traditional lift integrations that rely on physical relays, GuardPoint 10 communicates directly with the Mitsubishi ELSGW control panel over IP. Configuration is simple, the IP address and port of the ELSGW panel are defined directly within the GuardPoint 10 Options screen. System administrators can create ELSGW access groups within GuardPoint10, allowing full control over:

  • Which floors a user may access
  • Which lift doors open (front and/or rear)
  • Time schedules and permission-based access

This allows precise control of visitor’s movement throughout the building while maintaining a smooth user experience.

How It Works: Cardholder Experience

When integrated with Mitsubishi Electric DOAS, GuardPoint 10 allows cardholders to interact with the system in several intuitive ways. In many configurations, no manual input is required at all, for a frictionless experience from entry to destination.

Smartlifts with Sensor readers and turnstiles

    Automatic Assignment via Turnstile

    • The user taps their ID card at a turnstile
    • An integrated LCD screen displays the assigned elevator
    • No floor selection is required

Authorized Manual Entry at Hall Panel

    • The user presents their card at a hall-mounted reader
    • Only authorized floors are available for selection

    Pre-Assigned Destination

    • The destination floor is pre-programmed on the access card
    • On presentation, the system automatically assigns the correct elevator

    Full-System Integration Benefits

By combining Mitsubishi Electric smart lifts with RFID access control and turnstile systems, organizations benefit from:

    • Automated Passenger Flow – Only authorized users are assigned elevators to permitted floors
    • Enhanced Security – Elevators will not stop at restricted levels without valid credentials
    • Optimized Lift Allocation – Faster journeys through intelligent destination grouping
    • Improved User Convenience – Reduced need for manual floor selection
    • Crowd Control & Emergency Support – Systems can assist with evacuation routing during emergencies

This approach represents a true Elevator Destination Control strategy, assigning passengers to the most suitable elevator rather than relying on traditional “first-come” logic.
